Koh Samui in One Day

One of the days on Koh Samui, we took a scooter and went to explore the island on our own. Being one of the biggest islands in Thailand, Koh Samui is much more natural in its character then Phuket and can be circumnavigated by car or bike in just couple of hours. We didn't have any particular plan, and went where ever the road would bring us :)

Early morning, looking at the Big Budda from Bang Rak beach.

 Beautifull Vistas along

Looking at Chaweng Beach - the largest and most populated on the island.
For lunch we stopped at The Cliff, fabulous  restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine overlooking Silver Beach.

Reading a book on the cliffs...

At the Silver Beach:
Lamai beach

From here we decided to turn into mountains. The roads were narrow, curvy and mostly scary, I was begging to turn back multiple times, but comes out I was wrong. The views on top were more then rewarding.
Follow the signs to waterfalls. Only mental images :(

Our next stop was Wat Khunaram- the temple of mummified monk, where we also learned few spiritual lessons.

And then we got sort of lost... our sense of direction somewhat dissipated. Somehow we found ourselves looking at amazingly beautiful sunset at Lipa Noi Beach.

Nikki Beach was our savior for a quick snack. Around 8 pm. The parties were not  starting yet.

Leaving Nikki we headed to our hotel direction still feeling lost. We bumped into Chinese New Year Festival! Happy belated New Year ! This party was totally local. People were extremely nice, but I do wish they were also speaking English to explain us how to get back to hotel. Instead they fed us some of their delicacies and sent us on the way :)

I wish I knew what all these are:)

Finally we found a Thai person who drew us a 7/11 map, according to which we did find our way back!! Thanks god for 7/11s in Thailand!
The End!
